Overview
ARENA is allocating up to $12.5 million in funding for pilot projects and studies to integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DER) into the electricity system. The initiative supports demonstration projects that manage high DER penetration in distribution networks and studies that help startups, networks, retailers, and system operators develop solutions to technical, regulatory, and commercial challenges of managing grids with high DER penetration.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be developing either demonstration projects to manage DER impacts on distribution networks or studies addressing technical, regulatory, and commercial challenges of high DER penetration. The funding is split between two streams: Stream A for projects and Stream B for studies.
