Overview

The ACT Microcredit Loan Program provides low-income earners with interest-free or low-interest loans to help them start or expand an existing business. Loan recipients can also access one-on-one mentoring, peer support, and networking events.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be ACT residents with a Health Care Card, Pension Card or equivalent, have a combined family income no higher than $65,000 (no interest loans) or $75,000 (low interest loans), have been an ACT resident for at least 6 months, and be setting up or have an existing business based in the ACT.

Remote Jobs and Economic Development Program

The RJED Program seeks to fund 3,000 new jobs over 3 years to support job seekers currently participating in or that are eligible for Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES), to move into employment. There are two streams of funding available, Job Creation – to fund the cost of wages and related entitlements, and the Community Jobs and Business Fund (CJBF) – to provide funding for equipment, operational costs and infrastructure to directly support bringing jobs created under the Job Creation stream into existence. For the purposes of the RJED program, a new job is: •a job which does not already exist within an organisation and does not displace an existing employee, or •a job created in a RAES Community Project. Fee-Free Accredited Training

This program provides fee-free accredited training to eligible participants in Brisbane and Moreton Bay through the Australian Government's Self-Employment Assistance program. Participants can access business skills courses including Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business, Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business, and Micro Business Skill Set, along with exclusive video insights and small group mentoring.

Real Jobs, Real Wages

This program helps employers to grow and diversify their workforce by providing funding and support to hire and retain employees. Support includes job design advice, candidate connections, financial assistance for wages and hiring costs, and up to 12 months of post-employment support for staff retention.
