Overview

This program provides critical minerals businesses with grants of $2-20 million to cover up to 50% of eligible expenditure for early to mid-stage projects that build end-to-end supply chains with Australia's international partners. Funded activities include pilot plants, feasibility studies, capacity expansions, infrastructure scoping work, and R&D collaboration in the critical minerals sector.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be Australian-incorporated trading corporations with an ABN/ACN, non-income-tax-exempt, and GST-registered. Projects must be early to mid-stage, occur between post-exploration and final investment decision stages, and substantially undertaken in Australia producing minerals listed on Australia's Critical Minerals List. Government bodies and overseas lead applicants are not eligible.

Hydrogen Headstart Round 2

The Hydrogen Headstart program provides long-term revenue support to underwrite large-scale renewable hydrogen production projects in Australia. Funding is provided in the form of Headstart Production Credits (HPC), offering support per unit of production over a 10-year period of operations. The program aims to accelerate development of Australia's renewable hydrogen industry, support domestic decarbonisation, and help Australia connect to new global hydrogen supply chains.

Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRCP) Grants - No and Low-Alcohol Wine Research

A $3 million grant supporting Australian Vintage and nine industry partners with the University of Adelaide to develop no and low-alcohol (NOLO) wines. The project addresses technical and market challenges including flavour enhancement, mouthfeel improvement, microbial stability, shelf-life extension, and consumer insights to position Australia as a global leader in lifestyle wines.
