Overview

A program that supports local councils to deliver projects improving perception of safety in public spaces and transport hub precincts, particularly for women, girls and gender diverse people. Funding is available in two tiers: Tier 1 for on-the-ground gender-inclusive placemaking projects and Tier 2 for strategic non-physical initiatives including strategies, behaviour change programs and public education campaigns.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be a local council within NSW. All NSW councils are eligible except Safer Cities: Her Way 1 council partners (who may only apply for Tier 2). Projects must focus on walking/cycling routes within 800m of a transport hub and include engagement with local women, girls and gender diverse people through walkshops, co-design sessions and community surveys.
