Overview

The South Australian Government provides fee relief for commercial fishers, aquaculture businesses, and charter boat operators impacted by the algal bloom affecting South Australia's coastline. Eligible participants receive a credit or refund equal to 25% of their annual fees, with quarterly fees waived until at least 30 June 2026. Eligible fees include PIRSA Fisheries and Aquaculture annual licence fees, Biosecurity SA Food Safety Scheme and audit fees, and Aquaculture lease and licence fees.

Applicants must be commercial fishers, licensed aquaculture businesses, or charter boat operators impacted by the algal bloom. Eligible participants include those in the Marine Scalefish Fishery, oyster growing, pipi harvesting, and charter boat operations. Industry associations compile claims for assessment, or independent operators can contact PIRSA directly.
