Overview

EAPA helps people experiencing difficulty paying their energy bill because of a short-term financial hardship, crisis or emergency. Eligible hardships include loss of income, unexpected medical costs, natural disaster, or receiving a disconnection letter. If assessed as eligible, the energy provider will apply EAPA directly to the customer's energy account.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must have an electricity or natural gas account for their home in NSW, be the account holder, have an unpaid recent bill, and be experiencing short-term financial crisis or emergency. The account must be with an approved retailer (Arc Energy Group, Energy Locals, or Origin Energy for embedded networks) and the bill must be at least $50 owing.
