Graphite Research and Development Grant
Overview
This grant provides Australian SMEs with funding and access to CSIRO experts for collaborative R&D projects focused on developing innovative technologies and processes for natural and synthetic graphite production, particularly for battery applications. The program supports research in alternative feedstocks, recycling methods, purification techniques, and other innovations to develop a sustainable graphite industry essential for meeting global battery anode material demand.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be incorporated in Australia with an ABN and ACN, be registered for GST, and employ fewer than 200 people. SMEs must be committed to pursuing international opportunities including the USA and contribute funding equal to or greater than the grant amount. Eligible research areas include alternative feedstocks, recycling methods, characterisation, purification, coating, and scale-up of graphite processing for battery anode activities.
