Overview

Provides funding for taxonomy and systematics research, training, and recruitment of taxonomists in Australia. Supports projects researching the taxonomy of Australian biota aligned with three priority areas: Biodiversity and Conservation, Public and Environmental Health, and Building Taxonomic Capacity. Seven grant streams available with funding up to $375,000 depending on the stream and career stage.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be Australian Honours, Masters, or PhD students, researchers, non-salaried researchers, postdoctoral fellows, or early career researchers. Host institutions must include Australian museums, herbaria, universities, or government agencies with focus on taxonomy and systematics. Projects must be completed by 30 June 2029 and address at least one of the three Priority Areas for Research.
