Screen Queensland Digital Games Incentive
Overview
This incentive attracts games development projects to Queensland and supports local developers as well as international games companies establishing new studios in the state. The incentive provides up to 15% of eligible Queensland Game Development Expenditure (QGDE) for qualifying game projects. It can be used in conjunction with the Australian Government's Digital Games Tax Offset.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be companies with an ABN spending a minimum of AU$250,000 on qualifying QGDE with a development team of genuine Queensland residents (resident for at least 2 months). Eligible game formats include entertainment games, premium/free-to-play games, and games for mobile, PC/Mac, console, and VR/AR platforms intended for public release. Ineligible projects include non-digital games, gambling games, games likely to be refused classification, and games designed primarily for educational or training purposes.
