Overview

Supports and attracts events in Ballarat that drive tourism visitation, amplify Ballarat's tourism brand, and showcase the city's liveability. Three funding streams: Leisure events, Sport events and Business events. Provides funding of $5,000 to $20,000 per event for for-profit organisations and businesses. Three rounds per year (typically June, October and February). Part of the Ballarat Events Strategy 2018-2028.

Eligibility Requirements

Open to for-profit organisations and businesses. Funding $5,000-$20,000 per event (GST exclusive). Maximum $20,000 per event per year. Three rounds per year. Must choose one of three streams: Leisure, Sport or Business events. Contact events@ballarat.vic.gov.au or 5320 5500 before applying. Apply via ballarat.grantplatform.com.

For events commencing 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

Provides multi-year funding (up to 3 years) to organisations and businesses delivering on Ballarat Council Plan goals. Two funding streams: Community Stream (for not-for-profit organisations based in Ballarat, up to $100,000 per year) and Commercial Stream (for businesses and NFPs delivering economic returns, greater than $20,000 per year). Designed for organisations making a significant and sustained contribution to the Ballarat community.
