Overview

This program provides financial assistance to Western Australian defence sector businesses to help them upskill existing workers through an existing worker traineeship (EWT). Incentive payments of up to $6,375 are available to equip workers with digital and technical capabilities to meet Industry 4.0 demands. Course fees are reduced by 72% for approved qualifications including Certificate IV in Cyber Security, Diploma of Applied Technologies, and Diploma of Engineering.

Eligibility Requirements

Employers must be WA-based defence sector businesses with an active training contract registered with DTWD's Apprenticeship Office commencing between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2026, be designated as approved defence employers by Defence West, and employ an existing worker trainee in an approved qualification who lives and works in WA. The program is capped at 120 commencements.
