Overview

The NSW Medical Energy Rebate helps eligible concession cardholders pay their electricity bills. It is for people who are not able to, or have someone living with them who is not able to, self-regulate their body temperature in extreme environmental temperatures. Retail customers receive $285 per household per financial year as a daily credit on their electricity bill.

Eligibility Requirements

Must live in NSW, hold an eligible concession card (Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, Low Income Health Care Card, or DVA Veteran Gold Card), be the account holder of an NSW home electricity account, and have a medical assessment from a registered medical practitioner confirming inability to self-regulate body temperature and meeting Primary and Secondary Qualifying Conditions.
