EcoMarines Foundation Funding

The Queensland Government is providing $1,689,500 funding over five years to EcoMarines Foundation to support school students to be environmental leaders through education and positive action. The funding will expand EcoMarines' programs from 90 schools to 560 schools, including those in regional areas, offering free environmental education programs focused on waste reduction, recycling, composting, and cultural awareness.

Growing the Recovery of Organic Waste via Food Organic and Garden Organics (GROW FOGO) Fund

The GROW FOGO Fund provides support to assist Queensland councils to implement or expand kerbside food organic garden organic (FOGO) collection services. Funding is available for kerbside organics bins, kitchen food organics caddies, bin harmonisation, and education and awareness activities. The fund aims to divert organic waste from landfill and reduce methane emissions while creating economic opportunities through organic material reuse.

Charitable Recyclers Reimbursement Program

This program provides funding to reimburse waste levy payments made by eligible charitable recycling entities who are unable to use their existing Certificate of Exempt Waste under section 28 of the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011. Applicants can apply for reimbursement on a quarterly basis for disposed charitable waste that was subject to levy payments.
