Tourism Grants in Tasmania — 2026

This scheme supports tourism product and experience development in regional Tasmania outside the Hobart CBD. It encourages dispersal, year-round visitation, authenticity, sustainability and accessibility in line with the 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy. The interest rate is highly concessional for the first three years, with a commercial rate applying for the remainder of the loan term of up to two years.

A grant program designed to secure mass participation events that deliver strong interstate visitation and substantial economic and social benefits for Tasmania during shoulder and winter months. The fund supports events aligned with the Tasmanian Government Events Strategy 2023-2027 pillars of economic, social, and brand development, with increased funding available for regionally held events.

Grants of up to $20,000 available to promote winter events in regional Tasmania, increasing visitors and local community engagement during the non-peak tourist season. These grants assist in growing event expertise, skills, and capacity in regional Tasmania.

Grants of up to $20,000 for eligible organisers of touring activities held between March and November that attract more than 40 people to Tasmania. Participants must stay in paid commercial accommodation for five nights or more, with at least 40% of the touring activity spent in regional areas outside Greater Hobart.

Grants of up to $10,000 available to eligible organisers of competitions, championships and sporting events that bring more than 100 competitors and supporters to Tasmania. Funding supports events where visitors stay for three nights or more in paid commercial accommodation and the event marketing promotes pre- and post-championship travel within the state.

This grant program provides funding to event organisers in Tasmania to increase visitation to their events through marketing initiatives. The program supports both intrastate and interstate marketing activities for established events held between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026, with two funding tiers available based on target audience location.

The Aviation Attraction Fund helps Tasmanian airports and airlines partner to establish or expand domestic and international flight routes, increase flight frequency or capacity, and promote Tasmania as a destination. The program is divided into two streams: international direct air access (up to $3 million) and domestic routes (up to $2 million).
